Cornerstone Christian School Gymnasium,
Palmerston North

COMPLETED: 2018

ARCHITECT: Proarch Consultants

The gymnasium is large span steel portal, a combination of longrun metal cladding and Exotec cladding. Extensive mechanical services and acoustic internal linings have been installed to allow the building to act as both a gymnasium and hall as the space has been designed for mixed use for both the school and community. Specialist wooden sprung floor has been installed to the main gymnasium with multiple court markings. A specialist weights room is part of the overall facility

Also included in this project was the new gymnasium, office, changing rooms, utility stores, weights and training room along with all associated paths, hardstands, carparking and other site works.

This project was part of the development of Cornerstone Christian School’s expansion into secondary schooling – other works have included 3x 2-storey classroom blocks incorporating specialist teaching spaces such as science labs and arts rooms as well as a separate ablutions block, administration and teaching spaces.
